Dr. Jalal Raissi is
a proud Iranian-American. Politics aside, he believes there is much to
be gained by both Iran and United States in maintaining cultural,
economical, and scientific ties. When in Iran, Dr. Raissi finds himself
underlining the good in United States and when in United States, he
finds himself educating fellow US citizens about the good in Iran.
Dr. Raissi is a senior professor at
DeVry University,
Georgia, where he teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in the
School of Technology. Jalal holds undergraduate degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics from Southeastern Louisiana University (SLU), Master's degree (with honors) in Computer Science from Southern Polytechnic State University (SPSU), Master's degree (with honors) in Healthcare Policy and Administration from Mercer University, and Doctor of Philosophy in Information Systems from Nova Southeastern University (NSU). His Ph.D. thesis was
Dynamic Selection of Optimal Cryptographic Algorithms. He is currently working on his CCIE in Security
Lab.
Prior
to the start of his fulltime academic career a decade ago, Jalal was the president of Alpha Source, Inc. He is the author and developer of SuperCASE - a Client and Case Management system for Corrections offices in the state of Florida, MedRec - a Medical Records system in Physician's offices in state of Georgia, CatWatch - an Offshore
Platform's Safety and Monitoring System in the state of Louisiana, and JC+ - a Job Cost system in the state of Arkansas. Dr. Raissi is the author of Tracker - an Intranet DSS package developed for HUD-related agencies that tracks projec ts, tasks, activities and milestones. He is the author of Gen/Series®, a data-driven lower CASE written in C++ that generates applications with full source code. He is also the developer of SBasic, a Basic Compiler written in C++.
